Replies to Family Member Letter about RagesPerson With Bipolar Disorder and/or Borderline Personality DisorderThank you for helping me see and understand what I do to my husband when I get into these rages. I am 58 years old and am getting better at stopping/controlling the anger when it comes but most times "it" just takes off on its own. The times my husband has looked at me with so much hurt in his eyes and says something plaintively like "honey I wish you wouldn't hurt me that way" - it does bring me up short and I turn and walk away from hurting him. I am at that point so ashamed of hurting the one person that loves me the most so I try harder and harder to recognize when "it" is coming on and channel my mind to totally something good. Totally change what I am doing or thinking is the only way to stop it --- IF I have the presence of mind and strength at that time. I'm not successful all the time. May God give you the extra strength and wisdom you need. Permission by Anonymous
