Drug Discount Card Programs

When you use your cards, make sure that a generic brand isn't available that might be more inexpensive then the drug discount card.

CITIZENS HEALTH CARD

Qualifiers:  1. There are no restrictions on age, assets or citizenship. 2. To obtain the card, there is an annual fee. Average savings are 12-25% on retail prices and 35-50% on generic medications.

LILLYANSWERS

Qualifiers:  Must be Medicare enrolled. 2. Must have no other prescription drug coverage. 3. Individual income must be below $18,000 or household income below $24,000.

Benefits:  Allows you to purchase Lilly medications for a flat $12.00 administrative fee for a 30-day supply of any retail distributed Lilly drug.

NOVARTIS CARE CARD

Qualifiers: 1. Must be enrolled in Medicare. 2. Must have no other prescription drug coverage. 3. Annual income level must be $18,000-$28,000 for singles and $24,000-$34,000 for couples (25-40% discount) or up to $18,000 for singles or up to $24,000 for couples ($12.00 flat fee per month).

Benefits:  25-40% discount on certain Novartis drugs at participating pharmacies by presenting the Novartis Care Card or $12.00 flat fee per month per prescriptive medication depending on your annual income.

If you are applying for the TOGETHER Rx card, it is not necessary to apply for this card as the TOGETHER Rx will cover Novartis.

PRESCRIPTION BENEFITS PHARMACY CARD

Qualifiers:  1. Anyone can apply, acceptance is guaranteed. 2. Card is free for those 65 of age and older. If you are 64 years of age or younger there is a $48.00 annual fee for an individual or a $60.00 annual fee for a family.

Benefits:  Discount card provides savings on ANY and ALL medications which require a pharmacist to dispense.

TOGETHER Rx CARD

Qualifiers:  1. Must be enrolled in Medicare. 2. Annual household income for singles must be less than $28,000 and $38,000 for couples. 3. You must not have any other prescription medication drug coverage.

Benefits:  Allows for 20-40% discount at participating pharmacies on select medications manufactured by the following drug companies:  Novartis, Abbot Laboratories, AstraZeneca, Aventis, Ortho-McNeil, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, GlaxoSmithKline and Janssen.

GLAXOSMITHKLINE ORANGE CARD

Qualifiers;  1. Must be a Senior or other person eligible for Medicare. 2. Must have no private or public insurance coverage for prescription medicines. 3. Your annual income must be at or below 300% of federal poverty levels based on your income tax statement ($26,568 if you are single and $35,820 as a couple).

Benefits:  Allows you a 25%-40% discount on certain GlaxoSmithKline medications at participating pharmacies.

WELLPARTNER

Qualifiers:  None.

Benefits:  Low cost and non-prescription medications delivered to your door. Shipping and handling is free and if you order your non-prescription items at the same time, the entire shipping and handling is free. They do accept other prescription insurance cards. Must mention Wellpartner Senior Pricing, when you call to place your order.

YOURxPLAN

Qualifiers:  1. Anyone can apply. There is a $25.00 annual fee for individuals and a $40.00 annual fee for families. 

Benefits:  Program provides real discount on virtually all prescription drugs - both brand-name and generic. Offers greater saving when ordering by mail. There is also additional automatic cash-back bonuses on their Extra-Savings Drugs.

NON PROFIT WAREHOUSE FREE DRUG DISCOUNT CARD

Qualifiers: 1. No age or income restrictions. 2. No registration requirements. 3. Cannot have a prescription drug plan or who has drugs that are excluded from their plan.

Benefits:  Save on medications at K-Mart locations or by using their 90 day supply mail order program. Any member of the family can also use this card. The Pharmacist will enter the information into the computer, which will then price your prescription at the negotiated rate or Kmart's Everyday Low Price, whichever is less. You pay 100% of the lowest price.

The CARD will help you pay the lowest price possible for your prescription. If you find the same prescription elsewhere for less (local competition only, no internet pharmacy prices) Kmart will match that price. That is your Kmart Low Price Guarantee.

AARP PRESCRIPTION SAVINGS SERVICE

Qualifiers:  1. Must be 50 years of age or older. 2. Must be an AARP member ($12.50 annual fee)

Benefits:  Discounts on medications when ordered through AARP Pharmacy. Services (mail order) or when purchased at participating neighborhood pharmacies.

WALGREEN'S SENIOR DIVIDENDS CARD

Qualifiers:  1. Must be 55 years of age or older. 2. Must have no other prescription insurance cards. 3. Cannot be participating in any government assistance plan. 

Benefits:  10% rebate credited back to your Walgreens Senior Dividends Card on each drug purchase. There is no cost for the card or to register the card.
